Sometimes when opening VibEdit or VibRunner, and error pops-up that indicates the current test mode is not licensed. Changing the mode that opens by default can permanently resolve the issue.
Changing the Default Open Setting
Step 1: Open the VcpNT.ini
- Go to the directory C:\VcpNT\Config\Users\[USERNAME] and open the VcpNT.ini in Notepad
- Using CTRL+F, search for "DefaultOpen"
Step 2: Change the Default Open Value
- Change the line DefaultOpen=X to correspond with the item in the table below
1 = Classical Shock 2 = SRS 3 = Sine 4 = Random 5 = Mixed Mode 6 = Sine Dwell 7 = Transient Capture 8 = Sine Reduction 9 = Acoustic 10 = Random Reduction 11 = RoadLoad 12 = Classical Shock MultiAxis 13 = Random MultiAxis 14 = RoadLoad MultiAxis 15 = Sine MultiAxis
Step 3: Save and Restart the Service
- Save and close the VcpNT.ini file in notepad
- Open VibConfig by going to the m+p Toolbar > Utils... > Configuration
- Select Stop Service
- Select Uninstall Service
- Select Start Service
For example, if you want to always open to Acoustic in VibEdit and VibRunner, change the line of code in the VcpNT.ini to the following, making sure no spaces are added. DefaultOpen=9
Did you know you can enter comments in the VcpNT.ini file by adding a "#" in front of a line of text? The hashtag/pound sign tells VibControl to ignore that line, so add the tag and type away!
