Using the TMS 485B39 with Analyzer

The following guide provides information on how to use The Modal Shop (TMS) 485B39 hardware with m+p Analyzer for acquisition. 



Instructions to Configure the TMS 485B39


Step 1: Connect the TMS 485B39 to the PC

  • Physically connect the unit
  • Ensure drivers are installed (if needed)
  • Ensure that the unit is available under audio devices
    • Open Start Menu
    • Type "Sound" and open Sound Settings from search results
    • Under Input, see that the 485B39 is available as shown below

Step 2: Set the Audio Device

  • Close m+p Analyzer, if open. 
  • Open the m+p Analyzer Hardware Selector program (Start Menu -> m+p Analyzer X.X.X.XXX -> Hardware Selector)
  • Choose Audio Device
  • Click Select Audio Device box
  • Replace "Microphone" with "485B39" as shown below
  • Save and Close Notepad
  • Select OK to close the hardware selector



Step 3: Check the Device in m+p Analyzer

  • Open m+p Analyzer
  • In the Transducers tab of the Configuration menu, the 485B39 should appear in the Modules column.
The TMS 485B39 offers 2-channels of ICP (IEPE) sensor signal conditioning with BNC inputs.
