The Digiducer 333D01 is a convenient way to acquire single channel acceleration for route-based maintenance. Along with m+p Analyzer (mpA) and a simple handheld tablet you can take powerful measurements for a low-cost. Since the 333D01 appears as an audio input device, setting the sensitivity of the unit in mpA is not as plug-and-play as our m+p devices. The following guide will help!
Instructions to Configure the Digiducer 333D01
Step 1: Connect the TMS 333D01 to the PC
- Physically connect the unit
- Ensure drivers are installed (if needed)
- Ensure that the unit is available under audio devices
- Open Start Menu
- Type "Sound" and open Sound Settings from search results
- Under Input, see that the 333D01 is available as shown below
Step 2: Set the Audio Device
- Close m+p Analyzer, if open.
- Open the m+p Analyzer Hardware Selector program (Start Menu -> m+p Analyzer X.X.X.XXX -> Hardware Selector)
- Choose Audio Device
- Click Select Audio Device box
- Replace "Microphone" with "333D01" so that the line reads Master=333D01
- Save and Close Notepad
- Select OK to close the hardware selector
Step 3: Check the Device in m+p Analyzer
- Open m+p Analyzer
- In the Transducers tab of the Configuration menu, the 333D01 should appear in the Modules column.
Step 4: Set the Sensitivity in mpA
- To calculate the sensitivity, locate the sensitivity in Counts/m/s²for each channel in one of two ways
- Via box as Channel A/B sensitivity
- Via Device Manager as shown below underlined in red and green.
- Numerical identifier is as follows: (333D01 XXNNNNNBBBBBAAAAAXXXXXX)
- X = Leading/trailing number
- N = Serial Number
- B = Channel B sensitivity count
- A = Channel A sensitivity count
- Plug in the count number into the following calculation or use the attached XLSX Calculator
- mpA Sensitivity = 1000 / 8388608 * [counts] mV/(m/s²)
or
mpA Sensitivity = 1000 / 8388608 * [counts] *9,81 mV/g - Note: above is true for transducer sensitivity of 36750 counts/(m/s²) which is the datasheet nominal value
- Set the Windows Setting for Microphone Gain to zero
- Enter the mpA sensitivity in the Configuration -> Transducers tab for the unit of your choice.
