Connecting VibControl to USB VibPilot

Instructions to Connect VibControl to USB VibPilot


  1. Power on the VibPilot and connect it directly to the PC
  2. Install VibPilot Drivers
    1. Open Device Manager
    2. Locate 'DSP Device' or 'D.Module2'
    3. Right click and choose 'Properties' then 'Driver' tab
    4. Click 'Update driver'
    5. Select 'Browse my computer for drivers'
    6. Click 'Browse' then go to the USB Drivers Location Path: C:\VcpNT\VP24_Update\VibPilot USB-Driver
    7. Click Next to complete driver installation
  3. Stop and Uninstall the m+p service from the VibConfig program.
    1. The VibConfig program is located at: m+p Toolbar -> Utils... --> Configuration (Or Windows key -> Type "VibConfig")
    2. Ensure "Service not installed" is reported under Service Status
  4. Ensure dt_spos, dt_rand, or other dt_xxx process is not running in the task manager 
    1. For Win 7: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC -> Check "Show Processes for all Users" -> Processes tab
    2. For Win 10: CTRL+SHIFT+ESC -> Select "More Details" -> Details tab
    3. For all versions: If dt_x processes are running, right click and select End Process Tree as shown in Figure 1 below
  5. In Windows File Explorer, navigate to C:\VcpNT\VP24_Update
  6. Unzip firmware.zip (password is: firmware)
  7. Run VibPilotFirmware_x_x_x_xxx.exe(if multiples exist, sort by date and run the latest)
    1. Follow the instruction in the prompt. When finished, you will receive the message ‘Update finished successful', as shown in Figure 2 below
    2. Exit the Firmware Update tool
  8. Power the VibPilot hardware Off for 10 seconds, then back On

  9. From VibConfig:

    1. Change "Start mode" to m+p VibPilot 24

    2. If multiple VibPilot units are used, connect clock in/out cables, set master/slave sequence

    3. Start Service

Once the service is started, you should see 'Idle' in the Status of the VibConfig program. You can then close the program and use m+p VibControl! 


NOTE: It is not recommended to use a USB Hub to connect one or more VibPilot units to your PC/Laptop.
